Brandon Katt
About
Brandon Katt's legal career has come full circle at Addair Law, the same firm where he first interned as an undergraduate at Kansas State University. He returns to the firm with over a decade of trial experience defending clients throughout Manhattan, Riley County, and the surrounding Flint Hills region.
Brandon earned his B.A. from Kansas State University (magna cum laude, 2013) and his J.D. from Washburn University School of Law (2016), where he graduated with Dean's Honors. A decorated trial advocate, he was inducted into the Order of the Barristers and named "Top Advocate" while competing on nationally ranked trial and jury selection teams — experience he later passed on as a trial team coach at both Washburn and K-State.
Brandon's criminal defense practice spans the full range of cases, from traffic offenses and DUI to serious felonies. He holds specialized certifications in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) and Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) protocols, giving him rare insight into how law enforcement builds — and how a defense attorney can challenge — DUI and drug-related cases.
Before returning to Addair Law, Brandon spent three years at the Kansas Department of Agriculture, where he managed regulatory litigation and helped draft state enforcement policy — experience that sharpened his understanding of how government agencies build cases against individuals.
A longtime Manhattan resident, Brandon lives with his husband, Marc, and their three cats. Outside the courtroom, he can usually be found hiking, gardening, gaming, or catching up on the latest sci-fi or fantasy series.
